Not just for Halloween, the Pumpkin Cookie Cutter by Ann Clark, roughly 3 1/2", is a treat for the fall season. Cut out cookies for Thanksgiving or bring a platter to a costume party. Includes a recipe card for cookies and frosting.

Pumpkin Shaped Sugar Cookie Recipe

  1. Cream together: 1 c. butter and 2/3 c. sugar
  2. Beat in: 1 egg
  3. Add: 1 tsp. vanilla, 1/2 tsp. salt, 2 1/2 c. sifted flour
  4. Mix until all ingredients are well blended. Chill dough 3-4 hours before rolling.
  5. Preheat oven to 350º. Roll out 1/4" thick and cut. Bake about 8-10 minutes or until barely colored. Remove from cookie sheets and cool on wire racks.

Cookies can be frosted and decorated or eaten just plain. Also consider dusting with Cajun Power Sweet Treat Cinnamon Sugar.

Frosting Recipe

  1. Melt 1 Tbs butter.
  2. Combine butter with 3/4 cup powdered sugar, 1 Tbs milk, 1 tsp vanilla, 1/4 tsp lemon juice. Beat until smooth.
  3. Add food coloring if desired.

Yields 1/3 cup.
